Anthony (Tony) Shawn Simmons of Helena, Montana passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the age of 37.

Anthony was born on March 13, 1986, in Helena, Montana to Willie and Patty Simmons, the fourth and final child. Anthony grew up in Helena and attended Central Elementary, CR Anderson Middle School, and Capital High School (class of 2005).

Growing up Anthony really enjoyed playing basketball with his dad, older brother, and friends. A passion that followed him into his adult years along with his passion for all genres of music. But his love for Taylor Swift was well known by everyone that knew him. He even joked that his last name was Swift, and that Taylor was his wife. It was rare to run into Anthony without his headphones on. He was often found dancing to the beat of his own drum. He also enjoyed playing video games. In his younger years, he competed in several Mortal Kombat tournaments at Aladdin's Castle and did quite well.

Anthony was a freelance, nomadic soul. He wasn't attached to the materialistic ways of living and often roamed from place to place around Montana. Anthony always said he didn't need a house to be happy, his home was wherever he ended up, that often being the dome at Memorial Park, which he deemed "The Dome Is My Home."

Anthony had a beautiful heart and was always willing to put the well-being of others above his own. He enjoyed volunteering his time at the Good Samaritan, where he built many loving friendships. Even though he had many loving supporters, Anthony still struggled with mental health and addiction. Which sadly got worse after the passing of his father. And despite the numerous attempts by Anthony himself and his family and friends, he lost his battle.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Patty Simmons; his siblings Melissa Pimms (George), Mike Langley, Apryl Saksa (Joshua); his nephew and niece, Ryland and Adalyn; and aunts/uncles, cousins, and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Willie Simmons; his grandparents Bob Simmons, Mame Erickson, Red Langley, and Alice Southard, as well as his great-grandparents.

Please join us for a celebration of Anthonys life on Friday, June 23rd at 2:00 p.m. in the dome at Memorial Park. It is requested, but not required, that you wear red (Anthonys favorite color) to honor him. We'll play some of his favorite music and share stories. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Good Samaritan in Helena, (3067 N. Montana Ave) in honor of all the help and love they have given to Anthony and our community.
